Women in Science

"From then on the leaves of the tree of knowledge were for the women and for the healing of the nations." - Lucy Stone

In general, I admire the power of the women in science, because they show the intelligence what the women have. But in especial, I admire one of these women.

The woman in science who I admire is Marie Curie (1867-1934). She was born in Warsaw, in the Russian partition of Poland, on 7 November 1867. She's real name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie but she changed her name when she left of Paris. She was a scientist polish of French nationality. She had the possibility to study in a school and in a university and in this period study was difficult to the women. She studied Physics in Paris.

Marie Curie was the first women to win a Nobel Prize, and the first person to win twice in different sciences. Her achievements included the development of the Theory of Radioactive(sorry I love this area) techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of two elements, polonium (Po) and radium (Ra). She died from aplastic anemia believed to have been contracted from her long-term exposure to radiation, because she didn't know the effect of radiation.

With her two Nobel Prize She showed to all the world what the women can do. Not only to be at home taking care of children, but also doing science!

I love her!
